The Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library holds one of the largest Chinese studies collections in North America. The history of the collection can be traced all the way back to the 1930s when one of the finest Chinese rare book collections was collected by University of Toronto. Today, the Chinese studies collection covers many areas in humanity and social sciences comprehensively to support teaching and research cross three UofT campuses. To date, our total numbers of Chinese language materials reach over 300,000 volumes not count the collection of Chinese studies materials in other languages housed in Robarts and other libraries.
