Terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all bookable Robarts Library study spaces. You will be asked to read and agree to the following terms prior to confirming your booking.

Group study rooms

Occupancy maximum varies by room. Check room information. Rooms are for 2 or more people
Group bookings are restricted to U of T students, staff, and faculty with a valid UTORid and University of Toronto email
Rooms can be booked for up to 3 hours per day
Rooms can be booked up to 14 days in advance
Those who have booked a room have priority for use of the room with the following exceptions:
- Rooms booked, but unoccupied after 15 minutes, will become available to others for the entire duration of the unoccupied booking.
- A group vacating a group study room for breaks longer than 15 minutes will forfeit the room for the remaining duration of the booking.
- Groups who have forfeited or vacated a room cannot rebook that room during the forfeited or vacated period
An individual using a group study room must vacate to accommodate the group who has booked the room
Rooms are for studying and academic group work
Study rooms are not sound-proof; please be respectful of others in the area while using the rooms
Individuals or groups using a bookable group study room should be prepared to move to accommodate those who have booked the room
Eating is permitted in the study rooms; thank you for removing your garbage
Everyone using the study rooms is expected to honour the Library Conduct Regulations

Individual Study Rooms

Robarts Library individual study rooms provide a private, quiet space for a single occupant to conduct private, online meetings, interviews, or similar conversations. While these rooms are for single occupant use only, Robarts Library offers a variety of other spaces, including a reflection room.

Availability

Individual study rooms are restricted to U of T students, faculty, and staff with a valid UTORid and University of Toronto email.
Bookable in 1-hour increments, to a maximum of 3 hours per day
Bookable up to 14 days in advance
Availability during normal operating hours, but subject to change

Guidelines

The occupant who booked an individual study room has priority, with the following exceptions:

An individual study room booked, but unoccupied after 15 minutes, will become available to another occupant for the entire duration of the unoccupied booking
An occupant vacating an individual study room for breaks longer than 15 minutes will forfeit the room for the remaining duration of the booking
An occupant who has forfeited or vacated an individual study room cannot rebook it during the forfeited or vacated period

Groups using an individual study room must vacate to accommodate an individual who has booked the room. Library Conduct Regulations apply to occupants of individual consultation rooms. Please do not leave computers, valuables, and other belongings unattended in the room. The University of Toronto Libraries are not responsible for loss or damage of items left unattended.

Bookings may be adjusted or cancelled at any time in order to facilitate repairs, changes to opening hours, or other reasons.
