The Family Study Space at the John P. Robarts Library provides a comfortable, safe, and child-friendly space for University of Toronto parents and legal guardians to research and study while supervising their children.

Maximum occupancy: 20 people

Who can use the Family Study Space?

Current University of Toronto students, faculty members, visiting scholars and staff who have their children (aged 12 and under) with them.

While using this space

Parents / guardians:

must have their children with them.
are responsible for their children's safety and behaviour.
are expected to clean up after themselves and leave the room in good condition. This includes erasing the whiteboard, disposing of trash, putting away toys and books, and wiping down furniture if needed.
must change diapers and dispose of diapers in the washroom.

Children:

must be with their parent / guardian at all times.

Access the Family Study Space

You'll need a valid TCard to enter the Robarts Library, and a key-fob to enter the Family Study Space.

Request, renew or replace a key-fob

Request a key-fob (first-time users)

To request a fob, complete the Robarts Library Family Study Space Registration Form.

Renew key-fob access

Key-fobs expire every September 30th. In late September, you'll receive an email asking if you'd like to renew for another year. If you're eligible and interested, we'll update your fob remotely.

Replace a key-fob

Contact carrel.applications@utoronto.ca to request a replacement fob. You will be charged a $15 replacement fee.
