Space

The library includes:

Elevator access between floors near the entrance. Elevators do not operate during a fire. Follow posted emergency procedures.
Automatic door openers at entrances, washrooms, study rooms, and key spaces.

If you need assistance entering or leaving the library, inform the Info Desk staff of your location for safety.

Equipment and technology

The library provides:

a closed circuit television magnifier (CCTV) to change the brightness, contrast, and magnification of print-based reading materials
an adjustable chair and height-adjustable table
ZoomText and Kurzweil 3000 on library computers

Equipment is generally available on a first come, first served basis. You can also contact Info Desk staff for help or to reserve equipment in advance.

Retrieve and borrow items

Library staff can help retrieve materials for you. Contact the Info Desk with:

item call number
item title
your UTORid

Items will be held at the desk for three days.

You can also authorize another person to borrow materials on your behalf by completing a pickup authorization form.

You are responsible for materials borrowed by your proxy.

Copy and scan support

Photocopiers and printers are available at the front of the library.

Staff can assist if needed.

Course reserve materials can be enlarged and picked up the next business day.

Alternative formats

Materials may be available in alternative formats such as Braille, large print, or audio.

Service animals

Service animals are allowed in accordance with University of Toronto guidelines.
