Some FLC software is available to download for free, search software descriptions for details. When the FLC is closed, you can access FLC workstations and software remotely using Parallels RAS Secure Remote Desktop. All FLC software, with the exception of Bloomberg, can be accessed remotely when the FLC is closed. UTM’s I&ITS cloud-hosted platform, Parallels RAS Virtualized Applications, provides continuous access to a variety of software, including some from the FLC.

An integrated development environment (IDE) which allows users to write, compile, and run a C or C++ program.

IDLE

Python’s integrated development and learning environment, which can be used to create, modify, and execute Python scripts.

Jupyter Notebook

Open-source web application for creating and sharing documents containing live code, equations, visualizations, and narrative code. Can be used for working with data, including statistical modeling and data visualization.

A relational database management system based on the SQL programming language.

Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT)

An order-driven market simulation software, which includes a variety of cases to help understand the risks and opportunities associated with securities and trading strategies. Students must be registered in a class or workshop using RIT to access cases.

Installed on all FLC workstations and available remotely through UTM I&ITS' Virtualized Apps via Parallels Client for Mac users.

Available as a free download for Window users only.

Note: RIT needs to be launched TWICE on FLC workstations in order to access. If you encounter an error message, go back to the Start Menu and launch again. It should launch without issue the second time.

Note for Instructors: UTM's VPN software is required for remote, off-campus access to RIT on the Datacentre server.

Google Earth Pro

Google’s GIS software, which creates 3D representations of Earth based on satellite imagery. Users can explore any location across the globe using addresses and coordinates.
