About the OISE Library Student Advisory Committee (OLSAC)

If you are an OISE student, we invite you to join the OISE Library Student Advisory Committee (OLSAC). The OLSAC facilitates direct communication between OISE students and the OISE Library team. It is an opportunity for you to share your ideas and get involved in the decision-making processes that will help shape and improve the library's programs, services, resources, and facilities.

How it works

The OLSAC represents the various opinions and concerns of the OISE student body. The OLSAC aims to include a diverse group of students who can help to make the library a more inclusive and accessible place.

The OISE Library encourages participation on the OLSAC by persons who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of colour, LGBTQ2SIA+, persons with disabilities, international students, and others who will contribute a variety of viewpoints, experiences and perspectives:

Committee structure

comprised of between 6 and 15 OISE students
members serve a one-year term, starting in November
members may be re-appointed

Meetings

committee meets about 3-4 times per academic year.
meeting dates may be modified based on a vote at the first meeting.
meetings may be held remotely via Zoom, or in person with a remote option
meeting format will be decided each year by the committee

Why become a member?

members will be able to share ideas and get involved in improve the library's programs, services, resources, and facilities
members will build their experience with committee work
members who participate in the committee and attend at least three of the four annual meetings will be eligible for U of T’s Co-Curricular Record (CCR) credit
