- It is always preferable that you submit your manuscript using your @utoronto / @mail.utoronto email address or by selecting the University of Toronto as your primary affiliation. Not doing so may preclude you from the deal or delay the publication process.
- Once an invoice is paid, most publishers are unable to offer refunds. Please ensure applicable discounts have been applied before paying.
- A corresponding author is generally understood to be the individual who takes primary responsibility for communication with the journal during the submission, peer review and publication process.

What journals are eligible?
This discount only applies to Sage Choice journals, including the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) journals. Search for eligible journal titles: https://search.scifree.se/utoronto
There are a few select journals for which Sage does not offer an open access option that are excluded at this time.
Who is covered? Corresponding authors affiliated with U of T, including students, and teaching/research staff employed by the University.
How do I apply this deal?
- This process will begin when corresponding authors identify their affiliation to the University of Toronto. Refer to SAGE's user guide which outlines the author’s workflow and the article acceptance process.
- All authors will be contacted by the Publisher to inform them of their right to publish the Eligible Article as Open Access with no direct cost
- The author will only be offered a Creative Commons license Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY or CC-BY-NC). Publisher’s open access portal will provide explanatory text alerting author to why license(s) is displayed. Author may contact Publisher’s OA customer service if is another license is required.
- If the author rejects Open Access publishing of the Eligible Article, the Eligible Article will be published in a traditional subscription only format, not as Open Access.
