The University, including U of T Libraries, is lifting its masking mandate as of July 1, 2022, subject to any changes in public health policy.
To make our in-person services as safe as possible, we have implemented the following measures at Robarts Library and the Gerstein Science Information Centre. These measures are based on the provincial regulation and public health guidance, and we are following the University’s COVID-19 guidance.
Vaccination status & rapid screening | TCards & UCheck requirement | Masks & barriers | Hand sanitizer & cleaning
Vaccination status & rapid screening
- The University of Toronto, including the University of Toronto Libraries, no longer requires proof of vaccination or rapid screening to be on campus – this was paused as of May 1, 2022
- Health screening and contact tracing became unavailable in UCheck as of May 1, 2022
- These features may be reinstated with little notice in the event that public health guidance or recommendations change
- While health screening through UCheck is unavailable, individuals can monitor their health using the provincial health screening tool.
- Completing a health screening before coming to campus is highly recommended
- The proof of vaccination module will continue to be available if students, faculty, librarians, and staff wish to upload proof of additional doses
- We continue to ask members of our community to remain at home if they are ill
TCards & UCheck requirement
- Anyone entering Robarts and Gerstein must show their TCards
- UCheck requirement is no longer required
Masks & barriers
- As of July 1, 2022, the mask mandate has been lifted, as per University of Toronto's policy subject to any changes in public health guidance
- Mask-wearing is required in U of T libraries until June 30, 2022
- Some members of our community may choose to continue to wear a mask after July 1
- We ask everyone to respect each other’s decisions, comfort levels, and health needs
Hand sanitizer & cleaning
- Hand sanitizer is available for library users
- Washrooms are cleaned nightly
